lol @Instacart sent me an email suggesting I return to the fold. It was fun a year or so ago until I pulled a muscle from delivering mass quantities of water and pop to people who barely tipped.
That said, allow me to offer some tips now that things have hit the fan. 1/

Tip your delivery drivers. Especially if you have ordered enough to feed a small army for a month or more. Your IG driver is the only person loading your items. Ever stocked up at Costco solo? Imagine doing that with $200+ worth of merchandise.
Tip well. 2/

Move your car. Since your IG driver is moving oh that stuff from their car to your door, it would be nice if they could park as close to your front door as possible. This goes double if you live on a 2nd or 3rd floor apartment with no elevator.
Clear your driveway or help. 3/

You really don't need that much canned or bottled liquids. You shouldn't be throwing parties or running marathons anyway. I don't care how young and spry your driver is you don't need five flats of pop. IG drivers are using their own cars. Order just one or skip it. 4/
Be available for your shopper and respond to their texts. If you can't, at least be kind enough to make notes on items that you're going to be picky about. Good communication between shopper and customer benefits everyone involved. 5/
Be sure to leave a rating for your shopper, keeping in mind that anything less than five stars affects their pay. It's better not to leave a rating if you're dissatisfied. Unless they have done something truly awful like put you in danger or destroyed property, five stars. 6/
If you really can't live without bottled water, soda pop, frappuccinos, 4 gallons of laundry soap, and 5 bags of white rice, please don't do same-day delivery. If you're stocking up on that level leave it to Costco's delivery drivers, not Louise and her '09 Corolla. 7/
As fun as it was I won't be returning to instacart as a shopper. The experience has made me a better customer, though. I greatly appreciate those who do go grocery shopping for me and express that by tipping a minimum of 10%. It's the least I can do.
