THREAD:

I've been seeing so many Californians say this—and my ex, my Papa and I were all really sick at the end of December, too—that I decided to do some digging... https://twitter.com/rednexican2020/status/1245415549133156352
I was kind of amazed by what I found.

Who knew this was a Google search away...

https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Immunization/Flu-Reports.aspx
There is an enormous amount of information in these reports—all of it in medical speak and way too much for a thread, so I'm just going to focus on one chart that is common through each weekly report.

Remember there are many kinds of coronaviruses...

And watch the weekly graph.
Look at the climb by the end of November.
Here we are at the end of December...
By January 18, 2020, that Coronavirus curve seems to be flattening out...
On the January 25 report, they say these are THAT Coronavirus...
And the next day, the first confirmed case of THAT Coronavirus is reported.
By the final report of the season on March 14, all those OTHER coronaviruses had dropped way down...
Just in time for Gavin to issue a mandatory stay-at-home order on March 19.
One last note:

By the final report, and prior to being forced to close your businesses and stay in your homes, the 2019-2020 flu season in California had already resulted in more than 650 deaths that, according to this, had NOTHING to do with #COVID19.
