Can I complain about distance learning for a second?
I love being home with Kodey and teaching her. I love watching her learning process. HOWEVER the teachers at her school mandate that the kids do a minimum of 30 minutes online each day, and after spring break that raises to an hour. And they’ve turned it into a competition.
The more time you spend doing online learning through Moby Max, the more prizes the winner gets. One kids doing 350+ minutes a day.
That’s five hours on a screen. Five HOURS. And ya know, not all competitions need to be won. I get that. But they are consistently upping the time.
Kodey can only spend so much time in front of a screen before she starts to get a migraine. The minimum is 30 minutes (right now) but it takes her around two full hours to get through all of the mandatory lessons. My kid is living with a headache.
THEN she does an hour and a half long live with her teacher each night. She can’t keep this up. It’s literally hurting her. And the admins suggestion? “We can get her the computer from school instead of the iPad if you want?”

The screen size is the same. It’s not the screen.
It’s the lights themselves. They are killing her. I have no idea what to do. We have a neurology appointment in a few weeks. She wears her glasses. She turns the brightness down. But I am just...at a loss.
