are people aware that you& #39;re allowed to have a life that your family doesn& #39;t have to know 100% everything about? Not just because unnecessary tension if they disagree with you, but because privacy is a nice thing to have?

I mean, I don& #39;t want to know 100% everything about my mom. She should have the freedom to do what she pleases in her free time???? She doesn& #39;t need my fucking approval for anything

I& #39;m not ashamed to tell her what I do in my spare time but at the same time I don& #39;t want her asking something like "why do you write so many gay characters who are on the verge of self-destruction" and worrying about me or something

I dunno man, I just like not having to explain myself I guess? She knows more than enough about my mental healthy history + work at recovery, she doesn& #39;t need to wonder MORE about me when all I& #39;m doing is healthily venting through fictional figure skaters

this ain& #39;t some confessional in a church, there& #39;s nothing to atone for when all you& #39;re doing is having a personal life. Keeping stuff to yourself =/= guilt or shame.
