I’ve tried not to follow police about this, bc you never know why people follow others, but if you follow/support @scumbelievable - someone who, among dozens of other things, has harassed one of my friends about their trauma from incest and continues to joke about it - don’t.

If you didn’t know that’s fine. But if you’ve been following me & her thinking that my occasional bringing her up is just part of some personal drama, it’s not. She’s fucking dangerous and just goddamn cruel. No horror writing - esp not the vapid shit she puts out - is worth it.

She is a toxic leader in our community and people take her presence and “expertise” for granted. She needs to be held to task for the kind of evil shit she and her friends are giggling about right now.

Here’s her and one of her author friends (who a lot of you also fucking follow) mocking the incest survivor she dogpiled with GoT incest gifs, misgendered, and lied about for the psychological trauma they incurred.

People who pull this shit are a cancer. They need to be told no, not validated, and excised from their communities before they use their influence to gang up on and harass more people. God knows what they would do with real, non-internet-niche power.

I am really close to just DMing mutuals who follow her and asking what the fuck is going on, if they just don’t know or if they know and just don’t take it seriously. Just seeing her come across my timeline brings back horrible memories of her getting her followers to dogpile me.

Because I tried to inform people that someone who made a fire emblem mod was an incest freak, in case they didn’t want to fucking support someone like that, because a lot of people are fucking traumatized. And she put me on blast to all her followers.

And I didn’t even get the brunt of that particular moment of “discourse” which ended with the “gif incident” she likes to mock so much. Because it involved gifs from game of thrones, which apparently makes it okay.

I am so sick of this continually coming up, getting traction, and then settling down with the same people still fucking following her. What value does she have that makes this shit worth ignoring? Truly. It’s exhausting.

And like I said I am not trying to be judgmental. I have avoided follow policing about this because I don’t know what people do and don’t see and what experience they have. But like, come on, folks. People have to be pretending not to have seen this by now.

I used to follow her way back when, I thought she was just some cool horror lady. It’s easy to not know about things. Well... now you know. Please listen.

She is already busy trying to frame pushback to her sex-pest-sympathetic shit as a bunch of sex negative teenagers ganging up on her for not understanding messy queer art. She will probably point to the attack helicopter story again.

Most people in the camp of “Gretchen is a shithead” are also in the camp of “the attack helicopter story is brilliant” or at the very least the camp of it being important and not something to be censored, so, that’s a whole thing.

She will probably also say that the person she sexually harassed was accusing her of being a pedophile, harassing her friends, or that they were from kiwif*rms. None of this is true.

They had criticized her, not very nicely, for putting out an article (the wretched steven universe costume piece) that framed pedo and incest fetish fiction as “messy queer art” that shouldn’t be policed by survivors. They pointed this out to ppl supporting the article. That’s it

She also likes to dredge up a tweet from them saying pedophiles should d*e, which is not exactly a controversial opinion among most people and something that I would expect a survivor to vent about.

But it’s very easy for her to point at that and go oooh look the scary hate mob thinks I’m a pedophile and I should die! and all of her loyal followers to be like, wow, you sure owned those meanie teenage purity police! and the whole thing is taken at face value unquestioned.

I think that covers all the bases of her various bullshit (and largely successful) attempts to frame complaints about her literally sexually harassing a self-proclaimed survivor as a sex-negative harassment mob.

And then of course something like this happens, where she’s given an even larger platform to peddle her toxicity.

And I mean it. If you hate her and want to yell at her, fucking believe me, I’m pissed off too. But doing so just lends credibility to the tone-policing argument that criticizing her, or being frustrated with her continued exposure, is harassment.
