I've seen a lot of people "worried" about whether a semester of pass/fail would "hurt" the students in getting into college, so I did the math.

a quick thread
I theorized that a high GPA student would be most concerned about their GPA. I also theorized that the student had been on an upward trajectory ...

So what would be the impact on the GPA the college would see if they had one semester of Pass rather than a GPA that was "high"
So lets run the numbers...

i did it a few times
1. pass for one semester vs getting a 96 (higher than previous years) for that semester

2. pass vs 100 for the Rona semester

3. pass vs typical GPA for that kid in the Rona semester
If you want to believe that your college decisions are coming down to between .02 and 1.0 on your GPA... i guess thats a thing at maybe 10 or so schools like @Stanvard_U but for most schools that ain't likely to mean a whole lot.
In summary, when it comes to how colleges will handle this the short answer is to just listen to EPMD
