Look—the pre-Trump GOP wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t the Trump GOP and it did some good things and it at least pretended to have a worldview that was an important contribution to our country, even if it often struggled to adhere to it.
There once was a time when I wasn’t ashamed to call myself a Republican, despite how disfigured the party is today.
