Why aren’t we seeing more celebrity actors setting up relief funds for the people who work on their films and TV shows? I see a few are donating to food banks and first responders, which is great. *A few.* #setlife
Google “celebrity actor relief fund” and what comes up? A ton of articles about Netflix and Sony, and the big actors who are stepping up...in India. Seriously?
I watched “Avengers: Endgame” last night and “The Rise of Skywalker” the night before. I know everyone who has had a substantial role in these films can afford $500K+ to help out the crew, extras, caterers, craft service people, ADs, PAs and so on *who made those films possible.*
Are we the neediest? Not most of us, not yet. Some of us will get 2 wks pay, some of us have savings, some of us can get unemployment, some of us will get $1200 from the federal government. But those things will not be enough to get us through 2-3 months with no income.
You know us. We work really really really hard, shoulder to shoulder with you (often literally) for 12-hours a day. And we are all out of work. So do something to show that we matter to you. #COVID19 #ReliefFund
