I listened to every (non-holiday) @MariahCarey album. Here’s my thoughts:

I get the feeling Mariah was treated much more kindly than Whitney. Across the board - private life scrutiny, genre fluidity, tolerance for change in vocal performance.

However - it seems Mariah may have gotten a raw deal on her earlier (genius) albums, bc Charmbracelet and Heartbreaker were a lot of the same and possibly made out of a need to earn.

Her *best* album (to me, overall): Daydream. No one’s touching her pen or her voice, okay?!

The most enjoyable thing for me in listening to her albums is just the diversity! Pop, R&B, soul, power ballads, simp music - you want it, Mariah’s got it.
