Everything in Star Wars is an exaggeration.
The conflict is an exaggerated representation of good & evil.
The inner conflict of the characters is an exaggeration of the struggles we face as humans.
So why is THAT problematic for a character like Ben to survive? 1/3

Ben is a representation, and exaggeration of radicalized youth.
Him overcoming that evil from within, and being a better person, and living a redemptive life would’ve been so powerful.
Yes, he did evil things and in reality a person like him wouldn’t be accepted back into 2/3

*OUR* society. Star Wars isn’t realistic, so it isn’t supposed to reflect *OUR* society. It’s an idealization. Why should we hold it to realistic standards when talking about the redemption of Ben Solo? 3/3
One last thing, Ben Solo overcoming his evil within, and moving on to be a better person is so much powerful than him dying.
