I’m bored so this is the entire plot of the Kingdom Hearts series (a thread)

Some basic knowledge about the series
-The weapons are called keyblades
-If you die you get turned into a heartless, which is all the darkness in someone’s heart manifested into being

So it starts off in the Age of Fairytales when there was only one world. A man named the Master of Masters is the ruler of a city called Daybreak Town and is the ultimate Keyblade Master. He has 6 apprentices names Luxu, Aced, Ira, Gula, Invi, and Ava

Everyone except Luxu runs a union which functions as a different academy for young keyblade wielders. The Master tells his apprentices that they each have a role and they must fulfill that role when he disappears. He also tells them that there is a traitor Amon them

who will be a catalyst for the Keyblade War, an event that will end the world. They each have a role to fulfill and are tasked with finding the traitor. Ira’s is to be the leader of the group, Aced is to take over the group if Ira is seen to be leading them poorly

Invi’s role is to report on everything the rest of the group does to Ira. Gula received an item from the Master that is supposed to help him find the traitor, Ava’s role is to get a small number of Keyblade wielders to be sent off to the next world line so they can rebuild

Luxu’s role was the most crucial as he was supposed to inherit the Master’s keyblade, (which contains his eye) and box which contents are unknown. He is supposed to watch over everything that happens and the Master will be able to see it.

He will then bequeath that Keyblade to a new apprentice and the cycle will continue with Luxu watching over it until he finds someone who will start the 2nd Keyblade War and then Luxu will act

So the Master and Luxu both disappear and infighting starts between the rest of the group eventually leading to the Keyblade War. The World ends but Ava sends some of her apprentices to the new world.

fast forward a few hundred years to the remnants of Daybreak Town which is now called the Keyblade Graveyard. A young man named Xehanort has a conversation with the Master of Masters about destiny when Xehanort questions who the MoM is, the MoM tells him but then erases his

memory. About 60 years later, in that same graveyard, Xehanort (wielding a familiar keyblade) is training a young boy named Ventus. He is trying to get Ventus to embrace the immense darkness inside him but Ventus is too weak. He decides to extract the darkness out of Ventus

and creates another being known as Vanitas. He then sends Ventus to live with his old friend Eraqus, who already have two pupils of his own, Terra and Aqua. He and Eraqus then get into a fight after Xehanort says he wants Vanitas and Ventus to fight

because when they both clash they will create the x-blade and start the 2nd Keyblade War, which in turn will allow Xehanort to unlock Kingdom Hearts. Eraqus wins the fight but is severely wounded and Xehanort “agrees to give up on that ideal”

5 years later, Aqua and Terra are taking the exam to become a Keyblade Master. Xehanort and Eraqus are judges, Xehanort then manipulated the darkness inside Terra and lets it out causing Eraqus to fail him. Aqua passes

the exam and is shown the secret of the Land of Departure which is that it can be transformed into a locked Castle by using Eraqus’s key blade. Eraqus gets a letter from a wizard Yen Sid saying that monsters called the Unversed are invading the worlds

Eraqus sends Terra after Master Xehanort, believing Xehanort to have some involvement with the invasion, and gives Terra another chance to prove himself as a Master. After Terra leaves, Vanitas shows up in Ventus’s room. He tells Ventus that he will never see Terra again

Prompting Ventus to chase after Terra. After Eraqus finds this out he sends Aqua after Ventus. Terra is tricked by Malificent I to stealing the heart of Aurora and causes Terra to sink further into darkness. Ventus is attacked by Vanitas and is nearly killed

until he is saved by Mickey Mouse, the apprentice of Yen Sid and King of Disney Town. Eventually after a lot of traveling Terra tracks Xehanort to a place called Radiant Garden, which is under attack from Unversed.

He meets up with Aqua and Ventus and they take down a large unversed. Aqua accuses Terra of falling to darkness which makes Terra and Ventus angry and leads to Terra and Ventus walking away from Aqua

Terra tells Ventus to go home, and asks Ventus to help him when he needs it. Ventus agreed and Terra finds Xehanort tied to a wall after having been kidnapped by a bounty hunter named Braig. Terra defeats Braig and Xehanort tells him the truth of Ventus and Vanitas

but Xehanort says that he was trying to save Ventus and now wants to destroy Vanitas but needs Terra’s help to do so and Terra believes him. Terra continues his journey with a new mission: to find and kill Vanitas. Xehanort then finds Ventus and

tells him the truth about him and Vanitas and how Eraqus hid it. This makes Ventus extremely angry toward Eraqus and goes to confront him. Xehanort then gets into contact with Terra and tells him that Ventus is attempting to attack Eraqus and will die.

Ventus returns to the Land of Departure. He confronts Eraqus about his past and in and attempt to prevent the 2nd Keyblade War, Eraqus tries to kill Ventus. He is stopped by Terra, and the master and student begin battle. Terra utilizes the power of darkness to defeat Eraqus

killing him in the process. But before he dies he confesses to Terra about how wrong he was. Xehanort appears and transports the two of them to the Keyblade Graveyard where the final battle will commence. It is then Terra realizes he had been manipulated and lied too by

Xehanort. They are joined by Aqua in the final battle. Terra informs her of Eraqus’s death. She is saddened by this but realizes the battle ahead needs to be her focus. Terra fights Xehanort and Vanitas and beats them. Xehanort sends Vanitas off to fight Vanitas

Something I forgot to include. Ventus was frozen by Xehanort at the beginning of the battle and is currently catatonic. Vanitas goes to fight Aqua and easily defeats her. He is about to kill her when Ventus breaks out of the ice and starts attacking Vanitas

The two of them start fighting and Vanitas wins easily. Terra and Master Xehanort duel to a near stalemate until Terra manages to gain the upper hand and defeats him. Vanitas and Ventus’s clash has created the x-blade and the two of them merge with Vanitas having full control

the presence of the x-blade, allows kingdom hearts to emerge as Xehanort points out to Terra. Vanitas-Ventus aims a blast of darkness with x-blade at Aqua but Mickey deflects it at the last moment and starts fighting with Aqua

They are still not enough to defeat V-V though and as he is about to end them, Ventus start to resist Vanitas’s control and they have a battle for control. Meanwhile Xehanort used the emergence of KH to implant his heart into Terra, turning him into Terra-Xehanort

Giving Xehanort full control of the body. As Terra-Xehanort prepares to walk away, chains start to surround the mountain and Terra’s armor starts to rise, stunning Terra-Xehanort as Terra’s spirit has possessed his armor to become the Lingering Will.

The Lingering Will defeats Terra-Xehanort and Ventus defeats Vanitas, taking back his body and destroying the x-blade along with his own heart. An explosion occurs sending Terra-Xehanort to another world, while trapping Lingering Will in the KG

as he vows that he will one day save his friends. Aqua awakes with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy and Ventus’s body in Yen Sid’s castle. Ventus still has not awoken. She decides to take Ventus back to the land of departure and turns it into Castle Oblivion.

She seals him away there so no one could find him. Ventus’s heart then finds refuge within a young boy named Sora’s heart. Aqua’s next goal is too find Terra. She travels many worlds and finally finds him at Radiant Garden.

Terra-Xehanort and Aqua battle, with the only thing stopping TX from winning is the resistance of Terra’s hearts. Aqua is able to Terra-Xehanort but in the last second TX summons a portal to the Realm of Darkness. Sending both Aqua and TX down there

With her last bit of strength, Aqua sends Terra-Xehanort out of the portal as she sinks into darkness. TX lands next to the castle, where he is awoken by Braig and the unassuming Lord of the Castle: Ansem. TX has forgotten everything but his name. Xehanort.

(I’ll do some more in a little bit)

Xehanort is accepted as a student under Ansem and he is guided by Braig who is posing as a student. It is also revealed that Terra, Aqua, and Ventus all bequeathed their keyblades to three children. Ventus to the boy Sora, Terra to Sora’s best friend Riku,

Aqua to a girl in Radiant Garden named Kairi. Meanwhile inside the heart of TX, both Terra and Xehanort are fighting for control. Xehanort questions how Terra could even be in there but realizes Eraqus is with him giving Terra strength.

Approximately 8 years later, Xehanort regains his memory and leads a rebellion against his master. They cast him into the Realm of Darkness. Xehanort kills all the other students and then kills himself. Creating a heartless and a nobody for each one of them

(Side note: a nobody is the empty shell that is left behind when a heartless is created. They feel no emotions) Xehanort’s nobody Xemnas takes the other 10 students nobodies and forms Organization 13. He appoints Braig’s nobody Xigbar as his 2nd in command

Xehanort’s heartless is just pure darkness taking the form of human. It takes on the name of Xehanort’s former master Ansem. With a mission given to him, he mysteriously disappears

On the Destiny Islands, three young children Sora, Riku, and Kairi are building a raft to go explore other worlds. One night an explosion of darkness starts swallowing the world whole and Sora finds a keyblade on the ground and fights a giant heartless

after defeating the heartless, he finds Riku, who has seemingly been consumed by darkness. He says “the door is open” confusing Sora. And as Sora looks for Kairi. He enters one of the caves of the island and sees a hooded figure pulling her through a door

Sora wakes up in a city called Traverse Town. After exploring for a little bit he encounters a man named Leon. They get into a fight and Sora loses and is knocked unconscious. He wakes up in a bed with a girl named Yuffie sitting across from him

He then meets Goofy Goof and Donald Duck who are both looking for King Mickey Mouse. Leon tells him about the keyblade and Goofy, Donald Duck, and Sora start traveling to different Disney worlds. But little do they know that Maleficent has recruited Riku

and he works as her 2nd command as she tries to unlock the keyhole, something that will let her control all worlds. Eventually Sora finds Riku and Kairi at a place called Hollow Bastion. But Kairi is unconscious.

Sora and Riku fight but Riku wins easily and steals his keyblade. They fight again but Sora summons his strength with an iconic line “My friends are my power!” and gets his keyblade back, and Sora defeats Riku and sends him running away.

Riku in his embarrassment, is approached by a long hooded figure, Ansem, Xehanort’s Heartless tricks Riku into letting him possess him much like Xehanort did to Terra. And Riku becomes Riku-Ansem. Meanwhile Sora, Donald, and Goofy defeat Maleficent

and approach Riku-Ansem. He is standing next to the keyhole and blocking Kairi’s unconscious body. Riku-Ansem then reveals that Kairi’s heart is inside of Sora’s heart. He forces Sora to fight him one on one and Sora defeats him

Riku-Ansem retreats to the End of the World which is a world formed by the fragments of every world that fell to darkness. Sora realizes what he must do to save Kairi, as he pierced his heart with the keyblade and ends his life. This sends Kairi’s heart back into her body

causing her to awaken. This also creates a heartless and a nobody. The heartless was like any other heartless ever. But the nobody that was created was named Roxas and looked identical to Ventus. He formed in an entirely different world, and was approached

by Xemnas, Xehanort’s Nobody. He was then named Organization 13’s 12th member but more on that later. Back in Hollow Bastion, heartless Sora was being attacked by a clueless Donald. But Kairi used her abilities as a Princess of Heart to return Sora back to life

Kairi went to Traverse Town and Sora, Donald, and Goofy traveled to the End of the World. They then saw Ansem who had let go of Riku’s body and had taken physical form. Behind him, was large heartless, but it had a sense of compassion like it had no choice but to do this

Sora fought Ansem’s many forms, destroying them all and Ansem told Sora his true goal. To unlock Kingdom Hearts and unleash true darkness on the world. But Ansem made a false assumption, he assumed that Kingdom Hearts was darkness

He opened the door to Kingdom Hearts and the light enveloped him, and completely destroyed him. But if that light was released it would destroy all the worlds. So Sora, Donald, and Goofy all attempted to push the door closed but they could not

do it. Until they heard Riku’s voice on the other other side and they were able to close it. Then Mickey jumped out from the other side of the door and he and Sora both prepared their keyboards to close the door for good. They succeeded but Sora was once again separated

from his two best friends

Sora wakes up with Donald and Goofy near a castle. It is completely white, with no windows. They enter and are greeted by a man in a black coat. His name is Marluxia and he leads a group of people who are rebelling from Organization XIII

He tells Sora, that in this castle, the farther you go inside the more memories you will lose. Sora starts to venture further into the castle and starts to remember a girl named Namine. This was a girl who lived on Destiny Islands and who he was friends with

But one day she moved away and he eventually forgot about her. He then meets Axel, another Organization member. Axel trolls Sora and goads him into going deeper into the castle. Sora encounters more organization traitors who he fights and defeats but escape

Eventually he meets one and has him on the brink of death, but in exchange for his life, the traitor Vexen agress to give Sora information about Namine. But before he can, Axel appears and reveals he is not a traitor but he was sent in to hunt the traitors

He teleports Vexen too a far away world and burns him alive. Axel then returns to the top floor where Marluxia sits with a fellow traitor named Larxene, the girl Namine and Riku. Axel informs them of Vexen’s death and Marluxia sends Larxene and Riku to defeat Sora

Sora starts to lose his memories about everything and starts to only remember Namine. He starts lashing out at Donald and Goofy and then he sees Riku and Larxene. Riku and Sora argue about who is Namine’s savior. The pair fight 5 times and eventually Sora wins

Sora looks at Riku who starts to breakdown and collapses. Sora is petrified but Larxene then explains to him that this Riku was nothing but a robot and they have no idea where the real Riku is. Sora then attacks Larxene and defeats her. Larxene has her life ended

Finally Sora arrives at the top of the castle and sees Marluxia and Namine. He battles and defeats Marluxia who suffers the same fate as Larxene. Sora is about to embrace Larxene bunt a fire scythe is thrown at him. It is Axel

Axel and Sora fight, Sora is clearly winning so Axel concedes and goes back to the Organization’s base. Sora goes to hug Namine but she tells him that she had been manipulating his memories all along

and the ones he thought were about Namine were about Kairi. It is also revealed that Namine is Kairi’s nobody. She tells them that it will take a year to restore their memories. Sora, Donald, and Goofy go to sleep for a year inside three pods

Later, the real Riku wakes up in this castle and goes to explore. He sees nothing of value into suddenly he sees Ansem appear behind him. But it is only the ghost of Ansem. When Ansem died, he managed to tie his spirit to Riku in hopes that he could possess Riku

again. Riku fights Ansem’s ghost and is about to succumb until Mickey appears and fights off Ansem’s ghost. Mickey tells Riku, that he’s been looking for Riku. On the way to the top they encounter two Organization members.

Zexion and Lexaeus, they are both defeated but they remain alive. They make their way to the top and see a man in a red coat with his face covered naked DiZ. He is working with Namine to bring Sora’s memory back.

He gives Mickey and Riku a mission and they leave the castle. Riku claims he will use both light and darkness. He will walk the Road to Dawn. And with that they leave the grounds of Castle Oblivion.

A quick flashback details the reason that all these members were at Castle Oblivion. Xemnas (Xehanort’s Nobody) had ordered that a set of members go there to find someone who is asleep. When they asked Xemnas who it was, all he said was that it was an old friend

Zexion wakes up from his battle with Riku and sees Lexaeus with his throat slit, lying on the ground next to him. He sees Axel standing behind Riku Replica (Robot Riku) and Riku Replica stabs Zexion in the chest with his dark sword. Axel departs, leaving RR by himself

The next game in the timeline takes place right after Roxas’s creation in KH1. Roxas is inducted into the Organization as the 12th member. He goes on missions every day and becomes fast friends with Axel

Soon, the 13th member of the Organization Xion joins and becomes friends with Axel and Roxas, and they eat sea salt ice cream together everyday on top of the bell tower in Twilight Town. Eventually, Axel is dispatched to go to Castle Oblivion

Axel is gone for months and Roxas is resigned to the fact that he will never see Axel again but to his shock Axel returns and he, Xion, and Roxas continue life in the Organization as normal. Time passes and things start to go wrong

Roxas starts to feel the memories of Sora, who he doesn’t know exists. Soon after he stops seeing Xion and starts to grow discontent with the Organization. Meanwhile Xion is having a meeting with Namine who tells her that Xemnas has been manipulating her and Roxas

and Namine tells Xion, that Xion is just Sora’s memories of Kairi taken form not an actual person. Namine also tells Xion, that only one of Roxas and Xion can live for Sora can survive and that Xion needs to destroy herself.

Xion doesn’t want this and leaves the meeting. When she arrives back at the Organization’s base, she and Roxas go to Twilight Town for their daily routine. But this time Xion attempts to end Roxas’s life

The two keyblade wielders have an epic battle with Roxas ultimately delivering the fatal blow to his friend. As Xion, starts to dissipate from existence she apologizes to Roxas, and tells him to stop Xemnas.

Roxas decides to abandon the Organization with nothing left for him there. As he goes into the hulking city that is the World that Never Was, Axel chases after Roxas begging him to come back. But it is no use, Roxas abandons Axel, and Axel has no choice but to let him go

Roxas is then confronted by Riku, who needs to collect Roxas to speed up Sora’s memory transfer. Roxas refuses to believe he is anyone’s nobody and starts to Riku. The fight is even for the most part until Roxas starts to utilize all of his strength

and overpowers Riku, as Roxas prepares to deliver the finishing blow much like he did to Xion, Riku uses all of the darkness inside him to take on the form of Ansem (and his guardian) Roxas is now hopelessly outmatched and Riku easily defeats him.

Riku defeats him and takes his unconscious body back to Castle Oblivion. Riku puts him in a Data version of Twilight Town that DiZ created to ensure the memory transfer is as smooth as possible. Roxas wakes up in his bed in Data TT, with no memory of his time in the Organization
