I love how this 'farmers are dumping dairy' story is going around and everyone is like 'wow wtf is wrong with them??' and of course everyone shits on capitalism cause of it. Which yes capitalism plays a huge role in this but surely you can show compassion towards farmers

Like these dudes are one of the most essential people and folks out here are trying to shit on them for trying to keep themselves afloat in an already tanking economy. Y'know the industry that stocks your supermarkets and produce everything that isn't manufactured foods

Y'know, your dairy products, your meat products, your produce both vegetables and fruits, herbs, and even starches. And people are really trying to tell these people, who collectively provide food everyone needs, that they are asshole for keeping their essential business afloat.

It's like trying to insult doctor's on not being able to attend to every person. Like yes the reason is again capitalism and non free healthcare but you're going to shit on the doctors for that? No you don't cause it's not their fault.

If you want to be out here and say farmers should start giving their products away for free and allow themselves to tank themselves and the economy further than doctor's should start giving everyone care and drive the prices up for people who can pay.

Which in doing this eventually so much free care and products will be given no one will be able to afford anything and thus the businesses are broke the people are broke and your ideals have officially crashed the economy.

And for that everyone will suffer not just some folks if you'd rather risk everyone else's jobs and financial needs on the few then I don't know what to tell you other than that's messed up and there are other more logical ways to handle this that aren't kill the economy

I'm sorry this thread got so political but like, seriously are we really going to try to piss off the people who provide one of the hugest services for us right now during this pandemic. Like they can stop working at anytime and not provide anything for anyone but themselves

And if they do that then everyone's gonna have start looking at empty supermarkets from then on cause no farm is selling anything and imagine what kind of chaos that would cause??

Again so sorry for my hot take. It keeps showing up on my Twitter feed and I've just gotten so fed up with people tearing this apart mercilessly I needed to vent. Anyways have a lovely day and support your local farmers cause they like us are also going through this pandemic
