It's interesting to me that in so many disaster movies and books, the in-demand skills revolve around killing. But in this real-world disaster, it's cooking, cleaning, and now sewing skills that are in demand.
I can't sew very well but my grandmother taught me how to sew when I was little. She told me she never liked sewing but sometimes you had to do it. She lived through 2 world wars and 30 years under communism, where she had to sew a lot of things to survive.
