Since this whole 5th / 8th house thing is back on the TL... a traditional take

The 5th forms what’s known as a superior square to the 8th - also known as being ‘Upon the 10th.’ Basically, it’s like the 5th is in the driver’s seat.

Because the 5th is 10 houses from the 8th, events in the 5th generate events/possibilities in the 8th.

Example: having children (5th) is a common reason people merge resources (8th)

Or, ‘fun sex’ (5th) is a first step toward ‘deep sex’ (8th). Yes DEEP SEX.

You can use what is ‘Upon the 10th’ to understand the meaning of any house.

Sharing resources (8th) generates alliances (11th)

Personal relationships (7th) generate reputation (10th)

Illness (6th) often leads people to faith (9th)

Alliances (11th) generate income (2nd)

etc
