The primary reason that the furloughing of non playing staff by LFC and other clubs is so repugnant to so many is that the players are still getting full pay. LFC's entire non playing staff payroll is about the same as VVD+TAA'S annual salary.
While no action is taking on playing staff the club looks penny wise, pound foolish.
it's just a small time, cost saving measure for the sake of a few million quid.
And when this is all over, the astronomical cost of the furlough scheme is going to have to be repaid via future budgets because the govt is borrowing to do this. It could make the austerity period that followed the credit crunch look like a cakewalk.
This city is still living through the impacts of credit crunch austerity. It does not sit well with me that the club is adding to the overall furlough bill when ultimately it doesn't need to.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
