Where is #COVID19 in Ireland at now?
The number of cases, and the number of deaths are fluctuating, but no longer rising exponentially. Ro is roughly the number of cases caused by every new case - and on a *very* crude SIR model Ro is 1.45, down from 1.6 last week.
This is what our cases look like
And this is our daily cases (red) and my own predictions (blue) I'm not very convinced by the predicted modest dip, and I would not be one bit surprised if we bumped along as we are, at 300 or so cases a day, for some time.
There's been a lot of discussion about cases recorded, limited and delayed testing and so on. This is what our death figures look like compared to some other EU countries
And this is our daily deaths (red) and my latest predictions (blue). Please be aware that I'm very dubious about these. I think it *much* more likely that (sadly) deaths will rise.
What are we doing right?
* Social distancing
* Hand washing
* Patient care

What are we doing wrong?
* Contact tracing - need to trace the symptomatic, not just the tested. A serious failure
* Testing - we need to test *ten times* our current rate. I know how hard this is to do.
