America, with or without Trump, was already a disaster. The Democratic elite's obsession with Obama-era politics and the concept of "civility," seeks a return to Neoliberal policies that kill people just like Trump's "make america great again" sought the past.
With or without Trump, more than half of K-12 students are in highly segregated school districts. In 2016, predominantly white districts received $23 billion more in funding than districts that served predominantly students of color - that's $2,200 more per student.
With or without Trump, over 1.5 million public school students experienced homelessness during the 2017-18 school year. The majority of homeless families are headed by single women with young children.
With or without Trump, the total cost of attending a 4-year college in 2015 was $25,409. That's 2.5 times as much as in 1968, adjusted for inflation. Among single college students with children, 88% are poor or low-income.
With or without Trump, funding for Tribal Schools fell 67%, from over $400 million to just $133 million from 2001 to 2017.
With or without Trump, over 11 million children lived in food insecure households in 2018, and 14 million families are faced with unaffordable water bills.
With or without Trump, student debt now amounts to over $1.5 trillion and affects about 43 million Americans. The people most impacted by it are Black women who have the most debt of all students. Abolishing 100% of student debt is a racial justice issue.
With or without Trump, many of the country’s 60 million low wage workers are excluded from paid family leave and paid sick leave, because they work for a company with over 500 employees.
With or without Trump, 2.3 million incarcerated people, and 52,000 people in detention centers, are at increased risk due to crowded and unsanitary conditions and lack of access to medical treatment.
With or without Trump, 11 million undocumented immigrants, their 5 million citizen children, and some 4 million immigrant taxpayers who use an ITIN, are all ineligible for the COVID-19 legislation and its emergency provisions to date.
With or without Trump, 27.5 million uninsured people, and over 10% of insured people who can’t afford to see the doctor, have no guarantee to free or affordable treatment, hospital stays or vaccines.
