Say what you want about Smash Ultimate in terms of design, control, swag etc but I will say that the better player ALMOST ALWAYS wins in this game.

Even maining a mid tier I've almost never lost to someone and felt like "Wow I got cheesed" or "this person isn't a good player".

In smash 4 people will repetitive habits and no mix were still huge threats as long as they had bnb combos labbed and good reaction time. Stage control didn't matter at all because of rolls. I actually really like smash 4 but it wasn't the most strategic Smash game.
