So #corbyn has gone.
But this is not a day to celebrate or gloat. That man made #antisemitism main stream, it won’t simply end, & we must not forget.
#KeirStarmer is full of good words, but was silent for the last 4 years serving in the shadow cabinet.
It will be easy for Keir to act against many of racists, the walkers, the easons etc. But will he withdraw the whip from the clp Secretaries and officials?
Possibly.
Will he withdraw it & expell the over 100 antisemite councillors?
Probably not.
Will he act against a councillor if it means losing control of that council?
I doubt it, after all he didn’t have the integrity to refuse promotion to the shadow cabinet.
Will he act on the over 30 labour MPs who have demonstrated antisemite tendencies? Including the new shadow leader?
Of course not
Will he deal with the leaders of some trade unions & risk losing funding? I don’t think so
Keir isn’t a Kinnock figure, a man prepared to risk every thing to stand up to the cranks. Kinnock has guts & integrity he knew he had to purge the party & sacrifice an election in order to create a party that could get into govt.
I may be wrong but I only see cosmetic change
