BREAKING: http://Accountable.US  obtained internal documents showing chaos in Trump admin's response to #COVID19 and how one state has tried to keep this from the public.

Beginning now and continuing through the weekend, we'll be releasing the findings here. Stay tuned.
Our #PublicRecords request revealed that the administration failed to deliver 250 desperately-needed ventilators to Georgia.

Emails show that @FEMA asked Florida if it could temporarily loan Georgia 20 ventilators from its stock of 5,000 ventilators, but Florida never responded.
. @fema would not disclose the number of ventilators it had: "due to national security reasons, we do not publicly release the quantities of SNS products, including ventilators."

It then told @GeorgiaEMA to contact Oregon if it needed more ventilators. Reason unknown.
To make matters worse, @fema also sent states a @HHSGov email linking to @CDCGov guidance for how to reuse expired respirator masks, how to reuse respirators past their shelf life, and told hospitals to use "makeshift" masks in case of shortages.
When Georgia was finally able to get ventilators, they arrived a day late without explanation from @FEMA (who also kept getting the delivery address for supplies wrong.)

Officials wrote to @FEMA in frustration, "we waited until 0300 hours before giving up..."
. @FEMA created confusion in Georgia as state officials were trying to desperately secure life-saving ventilators — and these actions put American lives at risk.

Unfortunately, it doesn't end there...more to come.
