- Pharma and methodologists push RCTs.

- 2 most cited articles conclude that RCTs are not better than observational trials. [citation needed?]

- EBM is just one of many equally valid scientific methods [others being? we get a clear glimpse later of Eminence Based Medicine]
Prof Raoult's definition of clinical equipoise is slightly different from the commonly accepted one (at least in my understanding).

He might like to check Wikipedia (which he does check further on looking for "randomized controlled trial")
Next paragraph is from the realm of Eminence Based Medicine where there is pride in having it made without ever running an RCT.
As for the coronavirus, Prof Raoult is straight forward enough:

We shouldn't run RCTs because these are:

- a recent fashion
- only for niche topics
- yet to be proven to have any benefit on a global scale
Decided to translate this after having listened to @VPrasadMDMPH and @drjohnm 's recent podcast episodes.
