I find it fascinating conservatives' hyperfocus on macho survival skills like fighting, gunslinging, and physical strength and stamina in the midst of this crisis, when the most useful skills have been cooking, baking, sewing, childcare, social cooperation and tending the sick.

All these masculine skills we're taught are so necessary for the world to run, which is why men run things and get paid.

As it turns out, what's needed to survive is far more about the care and feeding of people than it is fighting and killing them.
