@CumbriaNGS Basically four groups of auriculas- alpines, borders, doubles and shows.
Alpines are the classic type that people recognise- shading of petal colour and either light or gold centre.
Borders were traditionally grown to be planted outside, simpler style to the flower and can be displayed as multi stemmed clumps.
Shows are the extravagant ones that everybody loves.
Just as hardy, but need some cover as rain spoils the flowers. Have a clear white centre made of farina or 'paste'
and either uniform colour petals(selfs), stripes or fancy edged forms.
Doubles need no explanation and can be grown in pot or well drained soils.
