Bhutto is guilty of a treacherous rejection of the Polish ceasefire resolution in December 1971, he is guilty of instigating the surrender of 30,000 soldiers in East Pakistan as a way to discredit Yahya Khan & pave his own way to power.

If there was one man in the world was mindful of it & who would’ve never accepted a ceasefire in 1971 in fear of being held responsible for Bangladesh’s independence, it was ZAB.

It’s Yahya Khan’s mistake to put Bhutto in that position.

Yahya Khan appointed him as Deputy Prime Minister & sent him to plead Pakistan’s case at UN, this shows Yahya political naivety.

Yahya had also ignored ISI’s intel of Mujib’s links with RAW & allowed himself to be manipulated by him.

Mujib even convinced Yahya that Awami League’s secessionist 6 points were part of campaigning rhetoric only, but after winning the elections he reneged on his promise to take back demands of the 6 points.

Had Bhutto & Yahya not resisted Mujib’s path to power by insisting on Awami League to disown the secessionist demands of the 6 points, it would’ve also ended in destruction of West Pakistan, in addition to the secession of East Pakistan.

We must remember that Yahya dissolved the One Unit along with the constitution of 1962 replacing it with 1970’s LFO after consultations with Mujib & others, allowing for a simple majority in National Assembly to pass a new constitution.

After 1970 elections a simple majority that Sheikh Mujibur Rehman had won, would’ve allowed him to apply the 6 points to all provinces of Pakistan.

This would’ve irreversibly dissolved #Pakistan as a country, just as USSR was dissolved.
