he has a platform where authors of colors can write about their own cultures because he knew he wasn't the best person to write them. so he used his platform to amplify poc voices.
one time, a homophobe made a homophobic comment and he just corrected them.
one time, someone asked him to name nico's girlfriend after themself, so rick replied with this.
rick riordan didn't make reyna a lesbian because he didn't want to feed into a really harmful stereotype which is: lesbians are only lesbians because they couldn't find the right man
but that doesn't mean you can't headcannon her as one
jo and emmie didn't get kicked out of the hunt, they left on their own because they loved each other. and artemis doesn't allow ANY romance in the hunt. but they are still on good terms with artemis, because she let them stay in the waystation-
which was made by artemis
his books has helped and encouraged so many people (including me) and they meant a lot to them.
