One woman I spoke to said her mother died after spiking a fever and having gurgling in her lungs, but the nursing home said it couldn’t be coronavirus, despite another case at the facility. She wasn’t tested, and so won’t make the state’s count. 2/4
We’ve been hearing from people who say they can’t get information from nursing homes about loved ones. Even a few staffers say they’re kept in the dark. But I did hear one home with an outbreak is sending families daily updates, though, so it’s not across the board.
Nursing homes aren& #39;t required to tell families about a single coronavirus case, but an organization representing nursing homes said facilities are doing that. He also said N.J. hasn’t experienced the scale of outbreaks seen in nursing homes in places like Washington.
