Jinnah's Daughter's "Sad & Happy" Visit to Father's Mausoleum.

On 27 Mar, Sad yet stoic Dina Wadia, the only child of founder, said it was a wonderful experience to see her father's mausoleum in Karachi.
It was her first visit to Pakistan nearly 56 years after she came to
1/n
attend his (Founder's) funeral.
In a message that she left in the visitors' book at the mausoleum, Dina wrote: "This has been a very sad and wonderful occasion for me."
Her son and the owner of India's Bombay Dyeing Group, Nusli Wadia, who accompanied her along with her

2/n
grandsons Jehangir and Ness, wrote: "My dream to come here has been fulfilled.I will come back to see his (M A Jinnah's) dream come true."
Dina, refused to entertain the press, whose members had been eagerly waiting for the family since morning. Heavily guarded army protocol
3/n
and security vehicles escorted them through out their visit.
Ms. Wadia arrived in a shining gray Mercedes. All the vehicles had protocol written on their green registration plates. Traffic on both sides of the road had been blocked ahead of the

4/n
motorcade's arrival.
Dressed in a yellow blouse and black trousers with an embroidered scarf around her neck and shoulders, Dina and her family members were presented with a guard of honor. The family spent some moments at Jinnah's mausoleum, after which

5/n
Pakistan Army soldiers escorted them to the mausoleum's antiquities room containing a number of Jinnah's belongings.
Wadia and her family stayed in the halls for almost half an hour. The officer who was conducting the visit reported that she had been

6/n
very impressed by a number of things.
"She wanted copies of three pictures,"In one of them she is standing with her father and her aunt, Fatima Jinnah. Another was a painting of her mother, Ratti Jinnah, and the third shows Jinnah dictating a letter.

7/n
"She was also very impressed with Jinnah's cars and clothes which were preserved,"
Jehangir and Ness wrote a single message: "Thank you for fulfilling our dream. It is an honor to be in Pakistan. Thank you for everything."

The account made me cry. I wish I was there to pay my respect and gratitude to the family who gave us the best and did not ask any thing in return. May Allah reward Mr. Jinnah and his progeny for ever and ever. Ameen

If I critically analysis, I can not forget that every woman is free to follow her heart and marry the man of her choice even if she is daughter of a founder of a country. Any other choice is hypocritical.
Atlast she did return to him (father)

10/n
by visiting his grave. Mercy and forgiveness is eternal. She was Torne between her love for the man she loved and her father. I'm sure Quaid e azam has forgiven her too in his death.Actually on the advice of the late Habib Ibrahim Rahimtoola, Quaid had even invited his
11/n
daughter to tea & sort of patched up before leaving for Pakistan. The bottom line is that whatever transpired between them is their own personal affair. For us ordinary mortal Pakistanis, she is our last surviving link with the Founder! & therefore she deserves all the respect

Let us not forget Partition was a tale of divided families. Sahabzada Yaqub Khan fought against his brother in one war, while his mother chose to remain in India. Dr Mehmud Hussain a Federal Education Minister was brother of Dr Zakir Hussain, a President of India. Let us

not be carried away.Mrs Wadia is the only child of the Founder, and if even he could forgive her,why can't we?May he rest in peace and may god shower his choicest blessings on his soul.We are grateful to him and owe just too much to his single handed struggle for Pakistana.

Thank you Quaid.
