#BREAKING: ALL immigration inmates in Key West were mysteriously evacuated from the Monroe County jail and transfered to the Krome detention Center in South Miami-Dade.

ICE won’t explain why. The move was made after their detainees went on a hunger strike. @MiamiHerald
Some context: it’s a 145 mile drive. The Monroe County detention center doubles as a county jail. Regular inmate population remains the same, but ICE came to pick up each one of their 40-50 detainees late last night. They rode a bus.
Now I’m told that the inmates from the Keys were placed in a quarantined section of Krome. Today is day 5 of their hunger strike. https://twitter.com/moniqueomadan/status/1245826648823324673
But 62 detainees at Krome also launched their own hunger strike this week. Here’s that video: https://twitter.com/MoniqueOMadan/status/1245866724743733251
Ooops. Typo in first tweet: *transferred
Clarification on my first tweet. ICE hasn’t explained why yet.

The agency told me they would get back to me on this. I’ll add their answers here when I get them.
