Philip M. Strong (1945-1995) was British Sociologist who wrote several papers on #EpidemicPsyhology. In His Paper "Epidemic Psychology: A Model", he defines Epidemic Psychology with Double Meanings...
Epidemic Psychology — It contains within it a reference, not just to the special micro-sociology or social of epidemic psychology of epidemics, but to the fact that that psychology has its own epidemic nature, quite separate from the epidemic of disease.
Philip M Strong...
discusses a very important aspect of psychology in times of social distress He writes —"Like the disease, it too can spread rapidly from person to person, thereby creating a major collective as well as individual impact."
According to Philip, Epidemic Psychology can have 3 types of psycho-social Epidemics;
1.Epidemic of Fear
2.Epidemic of Moralization and Explanation
3.Epidemic of Action
further, he adds, "from a sociological point of view what is interesting about these epidemics of fear, explanation and action is that they have the potential capacity to infect almost everyone in the society...
...Just as almost everyone can potentially catch certain epidemic diseases, so almost everyone has the capacity to be frightened of such diseases - and, likewise, has the capacity to decide that something must be done and done urgently."
We are facing #PandemicCovid19 thus according to Sociologist such society create a social-psychology drawn out of fear, explanations made out of fear and thus proposing actions based on these and thus finally acting.

Ex: panicked getaway of Migrant workers in mid of lockdown.
Further, Mr Philp states; Epidemic of fear is also Epidemic of suspicion: The social-psychology suspicion involves suspicion of getting caught or someone may b infected and infect me as well, a suspicion that it may infect me any possible routes"
Philp then explains the "Epidemic of Morals and Explanation". What possibly can happen: 1. unable to understand the seriousness of outbreak =>causing collective disorientation. 2. if it is taken seriously => cause unsual psychological states=>similar to religious conversions.
The second effect explained; "and some of these, in turn, became messianic - from then on, they rushed out and tried to warn, educate and convert other people."

Example: People spreading education =>Aryuvedic Med, Homemade Masks, Homemade Sensitization etc.
Mr Philp sates this can even trigger "Religious Conversion and Regious Revivalism" @noconversion
Example of Religious sort of things is flooded in TikTok, Facebook etc. its also happening on ground. https://twitter.com/BiharKaLal/status/1241386308636938242?s=20
The Call by PM Modi, to turn-off lights and came out on gates or balcony with Candles, torch etc to applaud efforts who are risking their lives to serve and maintain public order should be seen as positive social integration amid of crisis.

Philp M. Strong concludes with "epidemic psychology can, thus, only be conquered when new routines and assumptions which deal directly with the epidemic are firmly in place, a process which requires collective as well as individual action...
...But in dealing with the threat to public order that it poses, different societies may have very different sets of preferencesat their, very preferences at different types of structure and very different means attheir disposal" #LetsFightCorona
