Heck announced four months ago that he would not run for re-election to his 10th Congressional District seat representing parts of Thurston and Pierce counties.

Hypothetically speaking, IF Heck were to win, and IF Biden wins presidency, and IF Inslee leaves governor's mansion to take a cabinet post, THEN Heck would ascend to governor's chair. Remember Heck served as chief-of-staff to former Gov. Booth Gardner long ago.
