The arrest of ex-head of ISKP, Aslam Farooqi, is surprising for three points:

1) He is removed from the central leadership position of one of the main militant groups of the AfPak, which is the first case, not happened before in EIA, TTP, AQiS, or ISKP. 1/3 https://twitter.com/samiyousafzai/status/1246431197888155650

2) He is claimed to be replaced by an ISkP member from Kunar. It shows the transfer of ISKP to the Kunar, which roots it to the fight for dominance of the Salafi sect resulted in a Salafi emirate in Kunar in 89-91. 2/3

3) His arrest can be a surrender to NDS from threats due to possible divisions within ISKP or/and from the Afghan Taliban who have no amnesty for ISKP. It could be similar to the Ehsanullah Ehsan surrender to the Pakistani army. 3/3
