Surely they know what really constitutes a “body blow” to my students’ education: Poverty. Economic insecurity. Food insecurity. Lack of adequate health care.
Yet we won’t find the Tribune advocating that our society use “the absolute need to be flexible” during a pandemic in order to address the historically high and embarrassing levels of economic inequality in our society.
Nope. Just more school for other people’s children.
