That fact is that this crisis will change the world. As Kissinger has highlighted how governments handle this crisis will give a new standing to the nation in global order..
Conversations by PM Modi with Chancellor Merkel and PM Netenyahu also underscore that this is 'an important turning point in Modern History and offers a new opportunity to forge a new vision of globalisation'
So India has understood that there will be upheaval
So India has understood that there will be upheaval
Now how do we use this crisis as an opportunity?
Some suggestions :-
1. Unity in diversity..the crisis should unify the nation..all our actions now and later should confirm to this
2. Reform in Science & Technology -- Use the momentum built around Covid breakthroughs

3. Reform the bureaucracy-enough lessons can be drawn from this crisis to understand what worked n what didn't ,decisive reforms required
4. Economic Reforms-Move Supply chains to India,as many as we can, boost manufacturing sector..create more jobs by skilling n new supply chains

5. Reform Crisis Management structures- based on lessons learnt from this crisis

6. A wariness is setting in. Some are overdoing it, some are just not bothered since it has not come near them. Covid has affected millions and more than 1.5 lakh have died.
It's real..it's closing in and everyone will have to do their part in fighting it.
It's real..it's closing in and everyone will have to do their part in fighting it.
7. It's not going to be a 'Short and Intense War' like we have heard umpteen times. It will be a long struggle for survival. Nations that are facing the full wrath of this pandemic, where thousands are dying everyday, understand it well. They have learnt it harder way.
8. Our aim should be to ensure 'minimum casualties with minimum turbulence' to ensure early return to normalcy.
9.
Step 1--For 'minimum casualties' we have to
Test>Trace>Treat>Repeat.
Step 2--For 'minimum turbulence' we need
early identification>quick action>isolate> step 1>step 2
Step 1--For 'minimum casualties' we have to

Step 2--For 'minimum turbulence' we need
early identification>quick action>isolate> step 1>step 2
10. Both steps require an agile leadership and great administrative efficiency to identify the threat early and deal with it effectively. A feedback loop that shares best practices will help to template responses and practice can make responses better.
11. Some leaders will overestimate the threat n overreact, Some with lack of trust in thr command will compensate for it by over-ensuring. This is a test of leadership at all levels to find the correct balance to achieve 'minimum casualties with minimum turbulence'
12. For leaders, this is a great opportunity to learn. There will be fog of war(no information as to who the affected are) and then no clarity on affected areas and people(till some transparency comes through tracing). Leaders will have to learn to react proportionately.
13. To shut down completely is an easy option n it compensates for errors by over-ensuring. It is a correct decision in these kind of contingencies which couldnt have been planned for. But it is correct only if we get our act together in the fastest possible time.
14. Then it's time to re-start.
