There’ll be lots of business reasons for this, as there were for Spurs/Newcastle etc. Clubs pay into the exchequer. Clubs aren’t massive businesses by most measures. The wage bills at clubs for non-football staff are a tiny percentage of their operating costs. It’s not yet a month since they were playing games. They haven’t missed a broadcast payment yet. It’s not insane to think owners might just...shoulder those wages.
