Social Isolation Survival Guide

Having worked from home for the past 5 years, it pains me to see so many people struggling with lockdown right now! The least I can do to help out is share good habits and little tricks that make the time more enjoyable. (A thread

Working from home

Mental health

Keeping entertained

WORKING FROM HOME brings with it a ton of freedoms, but it also poses several challenges – mainly being constantly surrounded by distractions and temptations.

If you have the room to separate your work areas from your sleep/play areas, this can definitely improve focus. It also means all your work tools/gizmos are in the same place and easy to find.

If self-isolating in a busy household, let others know when you need quiet. If you have a conference call at 1pm, that’s not a good time for someone to be practising the guitar! Giving notice lets others plan their day accordingly. A reminder note on the door can help!

Try to keep a structured workday routine even at home. Make sure to take a break for lunch to rest your mind and body. It’s easy to lose track of the time at home – set an alarm if you need a reminder!

I’m someone who enjoys listening to music while I work, something that isn’t always possible at the office! The following mixes are some of my favourites to work to.
