Seeing so many Kpop antis keep accusing artists plagiarize/copy something already done before, is just so funny, coz it's only prove those ppl are very ignorance.
A thread.(1)

Creative is 95% re-use existed elements, from real life, to something already created, and combine them into something new. No one is able to understand or feel relatable to something completely new.(2)
Artist has to learn fundamental too, same goes with any other jobs like engineer, doctor,...
Visual artist like me, we have Perspective, Form, Lighting, Color...
For music/sound artist like Kpop idols, they have similar thing, from reading notes, to compose structure a rhythm.(3)

And we use that "grammar" to combine "vocabulary" in different ways to learn from what already existed, then slowly create new things, coz making "original" is really hard.
Someone post 1-2 artworks, but behind it are thousands failed works, unfinished sketches.(4)

Same goes with 2000 sound records from a musician, and they only able to produce 3 songs in the end. The remains 1997 records are unusable, or not suitable to produce, or can save for later use if there is a chance.(5)
And during the process of 3 songs, there could be 10, 100, 1000 versions they didnt work and only one final.
What I mean is, it's hard to learn how to create, hard to learn technical skills of crafting it, hard to bring out the original from existed elements.(6)

"Good artists copy. Great artists steal" - Pablo Picasso.
Most artist starting out with copy someone else's work, or something in real life, because that's the way to study. How can I recreate this? How do they do it? They inspired me, I wanna be like them...(7)

Why good one copy? Because they couldnt bring out the original, they are learning, or maybe an unperfect version of someone else.
Why great artist steal? Because they take small elements from many resources and combine them into something new, original.(8)

And frankly, I'm learning to "steal", coz that the way to create my own voice within millions great artists out there.
Each artists will have marks of their origin inspiration, but in the end, like same recipe& ingridients cook by 2 chefs, no meal taste the same.

That's why, it's totally okay to borrow, get inspired, from different elements i real life or other creative works, coz that's how we learn and actually making something new.
But if the execute is not good, or the intention is bad, it could become "immitate, plagiarism".(10)

What's important still is the intention, if someone take an existed artwork/ elements & say it's their original creation, that's plagiarism.
But if they took what existed and do it in their own way, still give credit & respect to what inspired them, it's creative.(11)

And this is also the closest thing to explain about Culture Appropriation.
One is took someone else works and make advantage of it, like taking credit, or make money.
One is inspired and want to sharing it to others.
A dead creativity is when no one get inspired and use it.(12)

If you want to be educated, go research yourself, they keywords already in this thread. There are enormous resources on internet, that artists share to connect and help each other.(13)
This thread is toward general issues that mostly happen in Kpop fandom, coz ppl here seems to not understand how real creative works.
Otherwise it could also apply to many things from visual art, music, perfoming, to cooking, writing, or even invent new technology. (14)

Im open to discussion, coz that's how we learn. But 1 rule in this: Be Polite!
Anyone want to create a fight I will say goodbye immidiately, you are not worth my time.
