1/Shout-out 2 all the PTAs/parents serving their school communities during this time. Since the pandemic, PTAs have organized 2 distr grocery gift cards, help families with tech access (incl th/parent advocacy), & connect families 2 resources

2/Some have tried to paint many PTAs as elitist parents hoarding resources 4 own kids. What I’ve seen the last few wks is the opposite: parents serving their schools incl working w/school to help most vulnerable students

3/this on top of day jobs & homeschooling own kids. In some ways I wish this weren’t needed, that DC would step up 2 address all needs, but we’re not there yet. Last wk I emailed another PTA saying I can’t believe we’re doing parent advocacy during a pandemic
