Hi @GovHolcomb , I’m wondering about a few things in our state. First, why are you only extending our shelter order for 2 weeks?
According to projections by university of Washington, we have plenty of hospital capacity at the state level, yet the metro areas are suffering..
the worst. How can we have plenty of vents and ICU beds across the state, assuming we meet the projections? Why aren’t you doing more like @NYGovCuomo and moving the equipment and staff where they are needed most? Once the cities have what they need, can we send help to...
New York and our wonderful friends and family to the north? Michigan has half the resources they need and we have double, for now. If you are planning to really open the state before the federal “guidance” suggests, then we will be in a worse situation and will likely...
need all of that equipment. In the meantime, you aren’t doing enough. How can we get the resources to where they are needed most, while there are lives to be saved? Something has to change. We need to be better at testing too. Between March 30-April 2, we only tested...
50% more people yet the infection rate doubled and the fatalities tripled. St. Joe county had over 70 cases and 1 death, while Elkhart County had just over 20 cases with 2 deaths. We are lacking in testing, we can’t get back to work before we have access to testing and...
we need to have accurate reporting. When I check the state website to see where we are, it states that numbers are posted at 10 am daily, yet it shows numbers as of 11:59pm the day before, not 10am. I REALLY find it hard to believe that with as bad as our neighbors to the north
Have it, as well as Chicago, that we have relatively few cases being reported, especially along the 80/90 corridor. Can you get us more tests? Can you please work to direct resources where they are needed the most? Cities shouldn’t be running out of beds and vents
while the rural hospitals have a surplus. It just seems like we can do better. I’ve been making cloth masks to help out, including for much of my family who are essential front line workers (police, firefighters, doctors) because of the mask shortages but I feel like...
It’s your job to protect my family against this virus. It’s your job to ensure my cousin, an ER physician and my police relatives including the local sheriff all have the PPE they need to do her jobs without getting sick. Please do more. Please do better.
