This is perhaps overdue.

I'm posting this as I know many Tianguan mains follow me, and I have, over time, seen some Tianguan mains post certain takes which I disagree with on a personal (i.e. non-fandom) level, or which even make me embarrassed to be associated with the fandom.
1. If you think it is justifiable to harass or bully someone because you think their taste in fiction is morally wrong, please unfollow me.

To me, bullying a real person is morally wrong.

I believe that two wrongs don't make a right.

And I'm in the "fiction =/= reality" camp.
2. If *your* moral compass tells you that it's okay to bully someone, then for heaven's sake, just own it.

Don't justify it as "[fictional character (eg. xie lian)] would do the same".

Setting aside literary analysis re: xie lian at which point of his timeline, because --
(cont'd) xie lian at 17 is different from xie lian after 800 years:

First, you're not the writer. You can't know for sure what exactly a fictional character would do, short of asking the writer.

Second, I hope you realise that you sound ridiculous, trying to hide behind --
(cont'd) or justify yourself with a fictional character in a non-fictional context.

There's a chinese saying, 敢做敢当 (gan zuo gan dang). If you dare to do it, dare to take responsibility for it.

I suggest embracing this philosophy. It's not the fictional character. It's you.
3. Mute and block buttons exist for you to curate your fandom experience. Fans use warnings to help other fans curate their fandom experiences.

Is it so hard for you to use the tools you have been given, or to just click away from something that obviously isn't intended for you?
Honestly, there are so many more things in the world, in real life, that are more problematic and have more serious implications than a fictional work that's tagged with warnings.

(Don't even get me started on a debate re: should fiction be allowed to have "problematic" themes.)
If you *must* expand energy to make the world a better place, pick better battles. Pick something more worthwhile, with a tangible real world effect. Use less plastic. Volunteer your time.

Not harass a random fan who is keeping to their own lane - a lane which you barged in on.
