@AUThackeray we are being thrown out of my housing society even after doing self quarantine for 16days and agreeing to do a test for the bldg.. They are threatening to shut off power supply.. Please help
Just putting out the details of what transpired
- My friend who is a French national working in Bombay and has been living with me since a year at my apartment in worli
- She went to France on Feb 24th and came back on the 18th of March 19, days ago

She self quarantined alone in an empty apartment for 16 days which was more than BMC protocol to make sure she was fine
She Showed no symptoms
On 16th day her being totally fit i asked her to get back home and that's when all the trouble started

The Building society Committee immediately comes outside my house and starts asking her to leave.. We explain the situation to them about how we had quarantined and we were completely fine and showing no symptoms
They sent notices to evict her saying she is illegal here

Just to put everyones mind at ease we even agreed to do the covid test Inspite of having no symptoms (and there being a shortage of kits) and even foot the bills for the same, which they agreed if we did they would allow us to stay till the results came.
Having taken tests today at 1pm we hoped we would not be troubled anymore but we get a WhatsApp message from the society saying if we don't vacate the flat till 9pm they will shut of the electricity supply to out house, which is completely illegal as far as I know
After multiple request and sending a legal reply they have agreed to allow us to stay here till 11 am today, and if we do not vacate they will shut down all supplies to our house.. We are being bullied and threatened by these people since the last few days and we have had enough
They come to our house at anytime of the day for temperature checks and ended up putting our lights out for 20 mins also tonight to show us if we don't follow what they are capable off.
Inspite of following each direction and guidelines laid down by the govt why are we being troubled like this and hence want to stand up against this bullying.. Anyone reading this please feel free to share your stories so we can help people understand the situation better
This is the time we come together and share and understand each other rather than ostracize people from. Society on no basis but paranoia and fear.. Look forward to all your support and hope this nightmare ends soon and we can just be at peace! Thanks

update - our reports have come negative and we both are not at risk to others. Awaiting societies response to the same. Thank you for all the love
Update - our test reports have come in and fortunately both of us are negative.. The society has confirmed our power won't be turned off but no mention of my guests not being harassed.. Hopefully this ends this mess! Thanks for all the love
