Long thread to follow but this has to be said so please bear with me... #StayHomeSaveLives https://www.instagram.com/p/B-j36fYDNCy/?igshid=16wghw7k9q0d6
I miss my boys more than anything in the world right now. I will never again take for granted the feeling of holding my dear ones in my arms, giggling into each others ears & watching each other tell a story while we gesture freely outside the frame of a phone or laptop camera.
So for all of you #Ontarians who are still congregating with people outside of your home - deciding that the policies don’t apply to you - PLEASE STOP.
Stop having house parties cause “we’re all healthy so it’s fine”. Stop taking your kids to play dates at your sibling’s “cause it’s my sis/bro’s place so it’s fine”. Stop visiting your gf/bf while they’re at home with their families because “it’s just me going over so it’s fine”.
Stop jogging in groups, & not making an effort to distance while you’re out on walks/at the park with your household. Stop aimlessly going out often for things you can order online/realistically do without for a few weeks. JUST STOP.
Because while you’re out there leaving your bubble, deciding no harm will come from your little visits, you’re risking so many other people’s bubbles, including those of essential workers on the front lines everyday, putting themselves at risk so that we can STAY SAFE AT HOME.
And you’re ruining it for those of us socially responsible bubbles. IMAGINE HOW FRUSTRATING it would be if you were in our position - watching you meet with your loved ones, while we’re making the decision to separate from ours for their sake & the good of our communities.
Remember the golden rule, people: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER whether we like it or not, so please stop disregarding the efforts of our govt & those around you, and making exceptions for yourselves.
Please do your part. Because the sooner we all take this more seriously, the sooner we can ALL hold the people we want to in our arms again, without fear.
Thank you.
