What is happening in #Daraa and #Sweida in southern Syria?

The following thread is based on interviews with locals and individuals/mediators involved in the case
1/ on March 27, 2020, 2 civilians from Busra al-Sham went to neighboring #Sweida to sell their cows. The 2 civilians were kidnapped by a local armed group for a ransom
On the next day, 3 armed men entered #Sweida and attempted to kidnap 3 civilians near #Qurya village.....
2/ before they shot and killed 1 of them.

Local armed groups from #Sweida were searching for the 3 gunmen before they got ambushed by the 8th Brigade of the 5th Corps near #Daraa borders....
3/ Clashes took place leading to the death of one 8th Brigade fighter, and eighteen local fighters from #Sweida, in addition to 9 injuries. The 8th Brigade took 6 dead bodies of fighters from #Sweida back to Busra al-Sham hospital....
4/ At the same time, a local armed group from #Sweida surrounded the house of ‘Yahya Najim’, and accused him of kidnapping the locals from Daraa. Najim tried to shield himself in his neighbors’ home before killing himself with a grenade which led to the killing of 1 civilian
5/ Immediately, a meeting took place between the #Syrian security forces and #Russian officers to defuse tensions. Based on the outcome, the Red Crescent transferred the dead bodies from Busra al-Sham back to #Sweida...
6/ A few hours later, a group called “Nusour al-Sweida” kidnapped and severely beaten 3 civilians from Busra al-Sham before setting them free....
7/ On the 31st of March, Daraa notables and sheikhs intervened to end tensions with their neighboring Sweida. The meeting ended with a statement to reject division and showed readiness to cooperate with their neighbors in #Sweida to bring security to the region....
8/ On April 1, Men of Dignity movement in #Sweida issued a statement in which it ensured on their good and ancient ties with Daraa, blamed the Syrian government for creating a “security vacuum” in #Sweida and held Al-Oda responsible for #Qurya massacre.....
9/ The movement also condemned the “suspicious attempts to push for local fighting whether between the people of Daraa and #Sweida or between the people of #Sweida themselves.”....
10/ A joint meeting between #Sweida and #Daraa notables took place on April 4, 2020. The statement titled “Statement of good neighborliness between Horan Plain and Mount” ensured the need to form a joint local committee to cooperate to end kidnappings....
11/ , to restore social and economic relations, and to invite the communities to respect & ensure good-neighbourly.

On April 4, 2020, a minibus carrying five Syrian army conscript soldiers & a Captain from #Sweida were kidnapped by local gunmen near Bisr al-Harir who allegedly..
12/ demanded 50 Million SYP ransom. This comes as a response to the kidnapping of several locals from #Daraa, including an elder from Bisr al-Harir who went missing in Sweida a few days ago.
13/ the kidnapped ones appear in a photo in a guest-room in Bisr al-Harir. Locals claim that the soldiers & driver are not kidnapped, but are guests.
Nawaf al-Hariri, the elder who went missing for more than ten days in #Sweida, did not return to his town yet
14/ update: the notables and shaykhs of Bisr al-Harir intervened and ordered the release of the kidnapped Syrian army soldiers
Three were released while the driver was kept as a guest, until the elder returns from #Sweida, according to locals.
