Walmart was very different today...

No more slots for pickups today or tomm at my local chain or Walmart. Been trying for days, so I had to go inside.

Figured I should go as early as possible. Knew Walmart opened at 7am. Local chain doesn’t open till 8, so Walmart won....

....my business.

First off, lot of people had same idea. Never seen that many that early.

Front door is blocked. You have to walk through a makeshift lane like they have at a bank. It’s made up of flipped shopping carts and caution tape. Signs every two feet warning you...

...to stay 6 feet apart. Young woman in a mask hands you a cart after she cleans the handle. They are out of wipes.

Inside it looked like someone picked the store up and shook it. Product everywhere in the aisles with workers everywhere reshelving....

....still no toilet paper. Barely any paper towels. Shelves picked over but stocked ... barely.

Exhausted workers who’d obviously been there all night.

Eggs 50% more expensive and almost gone.

No more pick your own donuts.

Subway closed.

50% of customers...

....in masks and gloves. All of us swerving to stay away from each other.

Everyone nervous. Watchful.

This is no way to live.
