All waves fall into a spectrum called the electromagnetic spectrum (this is secondary school physics) aka EM Radiation

This spectrum is distributed based on the frequency of the wave

At the low frequency end of this spectrum you have radio and microwaves and at the high frequency end you have x Ray's and gamma rays.

See the thing about this spectrum is that its also broadly divided into ionizing and non ionizing waves largely based on frequency too

An ionizing radiation/wave has enough energy to fundamentally change molecular structures, it does this by energizing electrons.

A non ionizing radiation does not possess enough power to dislodge electrons.

This information is particularly important because only ionizing radiation is carcinogenic I.e can change molecular structures to a point that can lead to cancer

Non ionizing radiation does not cause cancer! ,

Luckily for us, all radio waves ( including 5G) fall into the Hz-GHz range and are as such non ionizing. They are harmless for the most part

They're even safer than microwaves
