The argument continues; let the weak go to the wall & save the #economy versus please let& #39;s not overwhelm the #health #system & put #Frontliners lives at risk. Bottom line: what kind of world do we wish to live in? https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11326344/uk-coronavirus-lockdown-time-government/">https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/1132...
Professor Graham Medley, the government’s chief pandemic modeller, has said the UK needs to reconsider the controversial herd immunity policy & consider a trade-off between the young & old. He claims catching the deadly disease could be the key to beating the pandemic.
Whereas a team from Imperial College London - led by Prof Ferguson - found tighter controls could limit deaths to around 20,000 instead of 250000 as likely under Medley& #39;s model.
Surely while we can be heartened by the relatively low death rate even among the most vulnerable, we cannot afford to risk the health of frontline workers by overwhelming the system or giving them insufficient PPE. Better to spread it out. It will run until herd immunity anyhow
