Have been watching a ton of mythical creatures animations lately, here's a rating of all of them:-

1. Abominable (2019) Dreamworks

4/5

First off I love the character designs, Everest is an adorable yeti! What can you expect from the producers of How To Train Your Dragon lol
But I also enjoyed the cultural attributes, predominantly Chinese culture, food and destinations, which was one of the reasons the film was banned in Malaysia 🇲🇾 🤦‍♀️ "China influence", but if you put it all these aside, it's a heart-warming tale of friendship, loyalty, and magic.
2. The Missing Link (2019) by Annapurna Pictures

It won the Golden Globe Award for Best animated Feature Film in 2019 which made me wanted to check it out to see what all the hype was about.

Story wise I would say it was alright but not mind blowing.
Music was so so. But I did like the characters voiced by Hugh Jack an and Emma Thompson. Now those were some seriously awesome vocals. That make the film memorable.

And the drawing was beautiful. But I still dunno why they won the award. Rating: 3/5
3. Small foot (2018) Warner Bros

Started odd with a bang, that's to say catchy tunes and I dunno but I'm a sucker for great movie music. Which is why I'm a definite Disney fan and why I can't take the latest reanimation of Mulan not having the original soundtrack, but I digress
Small foot is beautifully animated, has a better storyline than Abominable and The Missing Link, has the catchiest tunes and the voice cast is great! James Corden, Channing Tatum and Zendaya.

Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Rating: 4.5/5
And then I rewatched Ice Age the entire movie franchise.

Now there's a reason why there's a franchise.

It has memorable characters, amazing voice actors, animated beautifully, and in a setting with so much potential to grow. The possibilities were endless.
And the story, now there's the clincher. It has heart.

The first one where Manny, Sid and Diego bonded together because of the adorable human kid who captured the human - nature connection so deeply even without speaking at all? Powerful.
Step it up with the sequel where the "herd" now human baby less moves to greener pastures to escape global warming and flash floods. Intro new characters and a romantic relationship and voilĂ  second film.

I also enjoyed the dinosaur one, but I'm biased haha, ending this thread.
