I'm not particularly convinced we'll have anything like a fair (even by 2020 standards) general election this year. There are like a dozen ways to use the pandemic to essentially make it an airtight thing for Trump without even cancelling it.
And that's before you even get to Biden shuffling around guided by the arm through the campaign
Like the general election has all but flown my mind as a winnable thing at this point. Not being all doomer here we're just in unprecedented conditions and the presumptive candidate has apple sauce for brains. But can't predict the future, I could be very wrong,,,
Mailer votes only for 60+ who will also show up in person bc they apparently have no sense of self preservation, restrictions on how many people can be at a polling spot leading to longer waits esp in cities where turnout will be historically low and vote already suppressed, etc
Uh could see republican governors reducing numbers of polling places in "high density" danger zone areas on pretext of social distancing, states changing rules late in the game leading to loads of lost or miscast votes or just confused people who don't then vote at all,
A potentially depressed youth (and by that I mean like under 40 even) vote since the dem party has essentially said fuck you to the future and is running on nostalgia at this point and the idea that Trump will somehow defeat himself. Which hey, could happen!
