Mela was released in 2000, but man does it feel like a movie from a forgotten era that no textbooks ever recorded. What gaaon is this!?

Oh wait! It's suddenly dawned on me that this is a mediocre remake of Sholay where Thakur and Basanti are the same person.

It is kinda incredible to think "Dekho 2000 Zamana Aa Gaya" and "Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe" (Dil Chahta Hai) are only a year apart. The Kishan Pyaare truck garage is probably the same set from Andaz Apna Apna's climax.

There's no half ass effort here. It's all turned up to 11.

Omg hahahaha! The Aamir talking in Hindi waali English comedy routine has some absolute gems.
