Day 10 of @NavigatorSurvey tracking poll: At least one aspect of Trump's bubble has been punctured. 40% of Trump voters say he didn't take coronavirus seriously enough in the early days -- a figure that has been rising in recent days.
62% of Americans, including majorities across racial lines and even a majority of white non-college voters, say his downplaying of the threat early on raises "serious concerns" about his handling of the crisis.
"Unprepared" remains the word that voters most commonly associate with Trump's response (61% say so). Also, his ratings on "honesty" around coronavirus have taken a hit (42% say honest, 53% say not honest today -- was 45%/44% on our first tracker).
All of this means that when asked to choose what about Trump's response bothers them most, voters continue to cite the early missteps as the root of the crisis more than what he's doing now.
And what of the vaunted Trump bump? Our latest poll has Trump's overall approval at 45% approve/52% disapprove. That's just 2 points over the average of our 5 pre-corona polls from Oct '19 to Feb '20. Not much of a bump when you see what's happening w/ Governors & world leaders.
