Before 2015, it would have been unthinkable for a Labour leader to commit to such radical policies. Policies and ideas which were once confined to the fringes of politics are now the mainstream of the Labour Party. That new settlement must be cherished and defended.
For those who hoped Keir Starmer becoming leader would end the relentless attacks from the media: you are about to be very disappointed. The left should be his critical friend, but robustly push back on the never ending right wing onslaught.
To those who want the left to go and find the nearest ditch to die in: we're going nowhere, and neither is the appetite for radicalism from younger people who have been robbed of security.
